Trevor and I have been together since 2010 and happily married since 2014. The year we got married we started trying for a baby and never in our wildest dreams thought we would still be waiting 8 years later. Trevor is meant to be a Dad. He has all the best qualities and he is really just a grown-up kid.
After 1 year of trying to conceive, I saw my family doctor who after performing all the tests for both Trevor and me, referred me to a fertility clinic. All our results came back normal and we were diagnosed with the most frustrating, unexplained infertility. From there I did 6 rounds of Clomid and 2 IUIs. During our last IUI my HCG blood test came back positive, however, sadly the following week dropped down to 0. After this, I went into a bit of a depression and we decided to take a break from TTC. For the next 5 years, we lived our lives, changed careers, and travelled the world, however still tried naturally every single month.
What's next?
Last August we decided to give IVF a try. During my first scan, they found two fibroids so I was put on a wait just for surgery to remove them. In between waiting I started IVF stims & had my egg retrieval. We now have 5 frozen embryos waiting for us.
In April I had surgery to remove the fibroids, which to our surprise magically disappeared all on their own. My doctor did however remove some endometriosis scar tissue. Now that I am all healed up, we are set to transfer 1 or maybe 2 of our embryos back to us in a few weeks. FET prep and meds have started and I am so excited just knowing this could finally be our time after 8 years of waiting.
